  • News Page: Reading’s Municipal Transport 1939-1950: War & Austerity - new book
  • Reading Transport Fleet List: 24 of the updated Euro 6 Alexander Dennis Enviro400s have been ordered. 8 are for delivery for the enhanced Claret 21 starting in September, and the remainder in March 2015 to replace the fleet on routes 5 and 6. The will be ordinary diesel vehicles, and the first in Reading to Euro 6 specification.

  • Reading Transport Fleet List: Two additional Wright Streetlite Door Fowards to become 166/7 have been ordered for route 19 which will hopefully arrive for service changes commencing on 7th July. Thanks to Brian Coney for this. 423 has been repainted into generic silver and entered service sometime between 28th and 30th April. Thanks to James Cusworth for this. 424-9 have gone away for repaint into beige for a new route 3 between Reading, Arborfield and Wokingham which is to replace Thames Travel route 144 from sometime in June. An Alexander Dennis press release regarding the new Euro 6 Enviro400 suggests that Reading have ordered some.
  • Reading Transport Wright Solars: 1011 gained I'm a Jet Black Bus vinyls by 24th April. Thanks to Martin for this. 1007 was delivered to AOT Coaches on 29th March.
  • Reading Transport Scania OmniCity Double Deckers: 1110/11 have had their lower deck seating reworked to create more buggy space with the removal of two seats. 1112-14 are to follow. Thanks to Brian Coney for this.
  • Reading Transport Alexander Dennis Enviro400Hs: 226 had gained a white LED display on the front by 16th April. Thanks to James Cusworth for this.
  • Courtney Buses Fleet List: Two new Optare Solo SRs have arrived for Wokingham routes 121-4 being taken over from Thames Travel in June. Similarly two Optare Versa Hybrids are on order for routes 126-9. Former Centre Shuttle liveried KX11 EER/S will be repainted white as spare vehicles, and YJ56 KCK is likely to remain for new Wokingham school contracts along with RX58 HVJ. PN10 FNO will replace RX06 WRU on The Heights contract. YJ09 OTV and YJ62 FYF have been repainted into Lemon & Peach livery for route 194. YJ55 BLV has not been returned, but will be replaced by a newer vehicle in due course. Thanks to Glenn De Sousa for this. The Solos for routes 121-4 will be coffee and cream, and the Versa coffee and mint. Thanks to Bus Fare magazine for this.
  • First Berkshire Fleet List: The three new Wright Streetlite Maxs are 63190-2 SN14 EBC/D/F, with 63191 having arrived by 24th April. 69934 entered service on around 19th April with 64030 transferring from Slough to Bracknell. 64030 lost its Heathrow branding shortly after pending eventual repaint, and will be used on route 108. Thanks to Brian Coney for this. 44562-4 have transferred from Slough to Bracknell for route 53/153 with 42113/4 and 42508 transferring in the opposite direction pending the entry into service of the new Streetlites. 42338 has been withdrawn and 44566 has returned to Slough from loan to Bracknell. Thanks to David Fuller for this. 63190/1 were on delivery at Heysham Docks on 20th April. Thanks to Malcolm Jones for this.
  • Fleet Buzz Fleet List: Reserve 33382 transferred to Norfolk Green and 47049 transferred to Basingstoke on 10th April. 33325/6 went into reserve on 31 March, with reserve 33306/7 returning to service in their place. Withdrawn 20830 was sold to Chepstow Classic Buses on 27th April. 16281 has been withdrawn and replaced by similar 16261. 16590 also continues to be allocated here along with 16282. 33015 is no longer on loan and has been sold.
  • Thames Travel Fleet List: 915/7 are believed to have been sold to UK Private Hire, Horwich in July 2013. Thanks to Bus Fare magazine for this.
  • Oxford Bus Company Fleet List: 51, 84-86, 89, 90 have been sold to Ensignbus (dealer), with 84-86 passing from there to Hamilton Gray, Exeter.
  • Stagecoach in Oxfordshire Fleet List: Oxford 36764 has transferred to Banbury. Banbury 33651 has gone into reserve and withdrawn 33462 has been sold. Reserve 33652/3 and 33463/4 have gone on loan to Stagecoach South.
  • Stagecoach in Warwickshire Fleet List: Stratford 16729 has been withdrawn and replaced by 16683 from Kettering. 33459 has been sold to Wigley, Carlton (dealer) and 34398 & 47028 have been returned to Warwickshire County Council. Ford Transit Connect 93309 has replaced 95214, whilst 90948 replaced 90806 earlier in the year.
