Alzheimer's Society Reading Buses Charity for 2015

Reading Buses have confirmed the Alzheimer's Society as their charity of the year for 2015 following a staff vote. An official launch took place on 27th with 1114 rebranded in a special livery for the year.

The Alzheimer’s Society supports people with all forms of Dementia, with the most common forms being Alzheimer’s and Vascular Dementia. In Reading and West Berkshire there are over 3,000 people presently living with dementia and statistically the Society estimates that just 52% have received a diagnosis. Diagnosis is important as it enable people to access vital treatment and support. Reading Buses staff have raised £35,000 for good causes since their first charity of the year was nominated in 2008, with £9,476.76 of that raised during 2014 for Reading's homeless support charity Launch Pad.
